LinkedIn Integration

Create personas from LinkedIn profiles using our browser extension

Overview

The LinkedIn integration uses a browser extension that allows you to quickly create personas directly from LinkedIn profiles. Simply visit any LinkedIn profile and click the Syrenn extension icon to automatically extract profile information and create a detailed persona for your training scenarios.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • A LinkedIn account
  • Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera browser
  • Access to create personas in Syrenn

Installing the Extension

  1. Navigate to the Integrations page
  2. Find LinkedIn in the integrations list
  3. Click on the LinkedIn card
  4. Click the extension download link for your browser:
    • Chrome: Install from Chrome Web Store
    • Microsoft Edge: Install from Microsoft Edge Add-ons
    • Opera: Coming soon
  5. The extension will be added to your browser

Using the Extension

Creating Personas from LinkedIn Profiles

The extension works seamlessly while browsing LinkedIn:

  1. Visit a LinkedIn Profile: Navigate to any LinkedIn profile page
  2. Click the Extension Icon: Click the Syrenn extension icon in your browser toolbar
  3. Click the Create Persona Button: The extension automatically extracts:
    • Full Name
    • Job Title/Headline
    • Company
    • Profile Summary
  4. Save Persona: Save the persona to Syrenn
  5. Customize (Optional): Review and edit the created persona in the Personas page

Privacy & Permissions

  • The extension only reads publicly available profile information
  • Profile data is used solely to create personas in Syrenn
  • Respect LinkedIn's terms of service and privacy policies
  • Ensure you have permission to use profile information for training purposes
  • The extension only accesses data when you actively click it

Data Usage

  • Extracted data is used to create personas in your Syrenn account
  • Profile information is stored securely in Syrenn
  • You can delete personas created from LinkedIn profiles at any time
  • No data is stored by the extension itself

Troubleshooting

Extension Installation Issues

Problem: Cannot install the extension

Solutions:

  • Ensure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, or Opera)
  • Check that your browser allows extensions
  • Try installing from the direct store links
  • Clear browser cache and try again
  • Check if your organization blocks browser extensions

Extension Not Working

Problem: Extension icon doesn't appear or doesn't work

Solutions:

  • Verify the extension is installed and enabled in your browser
  • Check browser extension settings to ensure it's not disabled
  • Refresh the LinkedIn page
  • Try pinning the extension to your toolbar for easier access
  • Restart your browser

No Data Extracted

Problem: Extension doesn't extract profile information

Solutions:

  • Ensure you're on a LinkedIn profile page (not a company page or feed)
  • Check that the profile has visible information
  • Try refreshing the page and clicking the extension again
  • Some profiles may have limited public information available

Extension Not Visible

Problem: Can't find the extension icon

Solutions:

  • Check your browser's extension menu (usually in the toolbar)
  • Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access
  • Look for the Syrenn icon in your browser's extension area
  • Verify the extension is enabled in browser settings

Removing the Extension

If you need to remove the extension:

  1. Open your browser's extension management page
  2. Find the Syrenn extension
  3. Click "Remove" or "Uninstall"
  4. Confirm the removal

⚠️ Note: Removing the extension will not delete personas that were already created from LinkedIn profiles. You can manage those personas separately in the Personas section.
